This Friday, as part of the 9th matchday of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Le Havre at the Stade Océane. Ahmed Touba, the 26-year-old defender for the Le Havre club, spoke to Ligue1+ following the 1-5 victory for the Parisians.
Touba: “The hardest part is that we aren’t picking up any points.”
It was a difficult night; what is the hardest part?
The hardest part is that we haven’t picked up any points over the last few weeks. Whether we concede 4 or 5 goals—it doesn’t really matter—we remain in the same position in the standings. We know that the most important thing is to start earning points as soon as possible.
Touba: “We have no choice; we’ll rest tonight and then get back to work.”
How did you lose your grip on this match?
Quite simply, because they are a very good team. We had opportunities to score—even to score multiple times—but we didn’t take them. At the other end, they don’t need many chances to find the back of the net; it’s as simple as that.
What is your mindset heading into a long season?
That’s true—a season is a long journey. We have to give ourselves a chance to pick up points, even though it’s not easy after a match like this. We have no choice; we’ll rest tonight and then get back to work.
