This Saturday at 9:05 PM (CET), Paris Saint-Germain (1st) will face Troyes (16th) at the Parc des Princes as part of the 10th matchday of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. In a press conference, Troyes coach Stéphane Dumont spoke about the upcoming match and their Parisian opponents.
Stéphane Dumont: “Staying together from the first minute to the last”
“The idea is to keep moving forward and to become even better. We need to be able to maintain our focus and our ability to stay together—from the first minute to the last. These are key principles and essential fundamentals for facing a team like this.”
For the Parisian side, shifting the ball from one flank to the other could put that cohesion to the test. Each switch of play forces Troyes to shift their defensive shape, close off the central channels, and decide who should step out to challenge the player in possession. If a single player steps out alone, Paris can exploit the space he has just left behind.
If the entire defensive block shifts in unison, the Parisians will need to speed up their passing or look for runs in behind the line. For PSG, the challenge will be to create these imbalances frequently enough to make it increasingly difficult for ESTAC to maintain their defensive structure as the match progresses.
