On Tuesday at the Estadio de la Cerámica, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 0-6 victory over Villarreal on matchday 4 of the 2026-2027 Champions League. As we now do following every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best Paris Saint-Germain player of the game—and Fabian Ruiz (the 30-year-old midfielder) came out on top.

It comes as little surprise that this player—who was once again brilliant—has taken the top spot. His brace, marked by high-level technical quality, certainly drew attention to his performance; however, his broader contribution to the team effort deserves equal recognition—both in possession, where he played a key role in the team’s fluidity and chance creation, and in winning the ball back.
Naturally, there were other contenders for this honor following what was, above all, a highly polished collective performance. João Neves (22-year-old midfielder) and Achraf Hakimi (28-year-old right-back) round out the top three, though several other players were also in the mix and not far behind. Ultimately, it was a commanding display from Ruiz, who truly deserves this moment in the spotlight.
Thank you all for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are taken into account for the “Player of the Month” selection.
