To round off the 15th day of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain welcomed Olympique Lyonnais to the Parc des Princes on Sunday evening. The Parisians quickly made the game easy for themselves, scoring two quick goals, while the rest of the match was a matter of managing their opponents. At the end of the match, PSG were 7 points clear in the league, having beaten Les Gones 3-1 (see PSG/OL video summary). Georges Mikautadze, Lyon’s only scorer this evening, spoke to DAZN about the match:
Mikautadze: “Two goals in quick succession hurts”.
Did you need more mental strength in the second half? Did you watch them play?
I don’t think it was with more spirit. What we needed to do in the second half was to get back into the game and play the game we know how to play. That’s what we lacked today, and even more so in the second half.
Did the two early goals get you going?
Yeah, last time I wasn’t there. It’s true that getting two goals in quick succession hurts. We managed to get back into the game before half-time and then we stopped playing for some reason. We’ve got to start playing soccer, because against teams like that it’s difficult when you start to clear the ball.
Didn’t we see you being aggressive today ?
That’s true too. They always manage to find players who move and we defenders were pretty low. We weren’t pressing together, and teams like that are complicated. You have to look at what went wrong.
