As the 2024-2025 winter mercato draws ever closer (January), the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today, Caught Offside reports an interest in and a hope for Jamal Musiala, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder from Germany, whose contract extension negotiations with Bayern Munich (he is tied to the club until 2026) are reportedly complicated. Other clubs are said to be on the lookout.
“Difficult negotiations between Bayern and Musiala, so PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid and ManCity are all planning to take an interest in the midfielder in January!
City scouts have been sent out several times. Musiala’s situation depends on DeBruyne’s.

Such a rumor is a classic, and on rare occasions it ends with a departure and PSG in the running. But we’ve also seen a number of cases of this kind end in a handsome contract extension. Pressure tactics via the media are one of the strategies used in negotiations.
Maybe there’s a real snag and the possibility of PSG jumping at a great opportunity, but we remain very cautious. Being able to recruit Musiala, a superb player, is tempting. But it’s risky to get our hopes up just yet. Especially as a departure would not necessarily be to Paris. The competition is bound to be fierce.
