Originally scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, March 14, between the Champions League round of 16 matches between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea (March 11 and 17), the match between Nantes and PSG, part of Matchday 26, was postponed by the Parisian club (with the agreement of FC Nantes). The Professional Football League (LFP) accepted the postponement, and the match will now be played the week of April 20.
“At the request of Paris Saint-Germain, in order to best prepare for their two-legged tie against Chelsea in the Champions League Round of 16, the LFP Board of Directors, with the agreement of FC Nantes, has decided that the PSG – FC Nantes match will be played the week of April 20.
The exact date and time of this match will be determined later.”
We can appreciate the assistance provided by Nantes and the LFP, even if we suspect that this will still provoke anger and debate. PSG will be able to fully concentrate on their European matches in a season where everything is more physically demanding after a busy summer.
