Quentin Ndjantou, an 18-year-old midfielder/forward, along with David Boly (a 16-year-old right-back), was one of two Paris Saint-Germain players injured during last Saturday’s Coupe de France round of 32 match against Vendée Fontenay. And the news reported by Le Parisien is rather negative following the tests he underwent.
“While PSG, in a medical statement, had announced that “further examinations are planned in the coming days,” these ultimately revealed a grade 3 injury that should sideline him for 6 to 8 weeks, according to our information.”
This is a major blow for Paris and Ndjantou, as the young player has been one of the pleasant surprises of the first half of the season. He stepped up during other players’ injuries and became a fully integrated member of the first team squad.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait until at least February to see him back on the pitch. It will be a challenge to regain his rhythm and confidence quickly after this setback. Nothing will be easy, especially since the team could gain momentum during his absence.
