In the margins of Friday’s press conference to discuss tomorrow’sLigue 1 2024-2025 Matchday 11 at the Stade Raymond Kopa against Angers (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on DAZN), Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique was interviewed by PSG TV. The interview was an opportunity to discuss the team’s lack of efficiency in the Champions League, the mentality of the squad and the Angers team.
Luis Enrique “there are a majority of positive things.”
Very hard to analyze the defeat against Atlético just after the match, is there anything new?
Soccer is an exciting and very frustrating sport. It’s very difficult to analyze right after the match, because the emotions absorb you. Now that I’ve analyzed it, I’m calm enough to tell the players that there are a majority of positive things. But this is the Champions League and our level of efficiency is inadequate. We can change that and we will. We’re going to improve.
Luis Enrique “We’re going to make some changes”.
What’s the mood of the group today?
It’s very different. Yesterday was a horrible day. We had to get through it and today it’s normal. We’ve got objectives and things to improve, and we’ve got some finishing problems to sort out as a team. We’re going to make a few changes so that some of our players get a chance, but everyone is focused on the match against Angers, so that we can move further ahead.
What’s tomorrow’s match against Angers?
There are no easy games, especially away from home. Angers haven’t lost in 4 games, and beat Monaco at home. They’re a newly-promoted team who needed time to adapt. They have great potential. We need to perform well tomorrow. It’s a good test after Wednesday’s defeat.
