Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta spoke to Canal+ after Wednesday night’s victory over Real Madrid (1-2, 1-5 on aggregate) to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League 2024-2025. This will be against Paris Saint-Germain (April 29 and May 7), a match the Spanish coach has been talking about. With a return to Paris, where he played in the 2001-2002 season.
Arteta “it will be really very difficult for us.”
“I’ve been a very big fan of Luis Enrique for many years, he’s an incredible coach. What he’s built with this team is really special. Their consistency, the way they play, it’s going to be really difficult for us.
Going back to the Parc?
It’ll be special for me, I loved playing there. It was my professional soccer debut, so it’s going to be a special match”, comments relayed by Le Parisien.
Arteta may have only spent one season at PSG, but overall he still has a very good image with the fans and clearly has good feelings for the club. Some even imagine him coming in as a player coach. In the meantime, it will be an interesting moment to experience.
Above all, though, it will be a Champions League semi-final, with the return leg at the Parc. Clearly, this will be the most interesting game of the evening, and we’re expecting two great soccer matches.
Arteta may like the Parisian game and stress that PSG are difficult to eliminate, but the Parisians must bear in mind that Arsenal have a great team. Nothing will be easy or impossible. All that remains is to prepare as well as possible in the meantime.
