Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal 0-1 (video highlights Arsenal/PSG) on Tuesday at Emirates Stadium in the semi-finals of the Champions League 2024-2025 (return leg May 7). PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV ahead of the match.
Enrique “I think we gave our fans joy, thanks to that mentality.”
“We’re clearly thinking about how difficult the match was, because the atmosphere in the stadium was incredible. But I think we showed our true mentality. We made a very good start to the game, and that gave us confidence.
It’s a very good moment for us. And I think we need to think about the next game, think about recovering, because it’s going to be very difficult. But we’re very happy and I think we gave our fans joy, thanks to this mentality.”
Enrique “We’re happy but we can improve, everyone needs to know that.”
“There were a lot of emotions. I think we need to enjoy the support of the fans, because every day they’re incredible. Today, 2,500 fans were present and we heard them supporting the team.
We have to assume that the return match will be difficult, with moments of suffering, but I think that with our supporters and our character, we’ll show what kind of team we are. We’re happy, but we can improve, everyone needs to know that.”
