Matchday 6 of the 2025/26 Champions League saw Athletic Bilbao take on Paris Saint-Germain. And despite good intentions from both teams, the match ended in a goalless draw at the San Mamés stadium. Nuno Mendes, the 23-year-old Parisian defender, spoke to Canal+ about the draw:
Mendes: “We think we need to do more”
What was the atmosphere like in the dressing room?
No disappointment, but we think we need to do more, and today we weren’t at our best. We needed to do more to leave here with a win, and unfortunately, we didn’t manage it. The atmosphere was normal, but it’s a draw. We didn’t want these results, but we have to keep going.
How can you explain that?
It happens, sometimes we’re not at our best, but we always try to be at our best, and today we didn’t manage it. We have to work, but we have time, and I think we’ll be better in the next match.
What’s wrong with Marquinhos?
A bit tired, but I’m not a doctor, I don’t really know. I hope he’s okay.
