This Monday, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool officially confirmed Bradley Barcola’s transfer to the English club. Following this departure—valued by the media at around €145 million—PSG released a video featuring the French international’s farewell message to the club, the players, coach Luis Enrique, and the fans.

It is beautiful to see such a conclusion—tinged with sadness, of course, but also filled with love and respect. Barcola enjoyed his time at PSG and focuses on the positives. Even though he is leaving for a specific reason—likely the chance to secure a starting spot at Liverpool. A massive club that was looking for a replacement for Mohamed Salah. It was a tempting new adventure.
Especially since Barcola was struggling to take that next step in Paris—such as becoming a starter in a Champions League final. He played an important role nonetheless, and many would have liked to see him stay in the capital. However, his decision is understandable; there is also the allure of adventure. The forward will now be able to experience new things.
That won’t stop him from maintaining a strong bond with PSG, where he is part of a team making football history. It is great to see his kind words for coach Luis Enrique—with no hard feelings, despite certain decisions he likely would have preferred to change.
