Achraf Hakimi, the 27-year-old Paris Saint-Germain full-back, finished the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich (a 5-4 victory, with the second leg on May 6th) in pain. According to tests, he has suffered an injury and will miss the second leg, according to RMC Sport.

“He has a hamstring tear, as revealed by RMC Sport. He will therefore not play against Bayern Munich next week, but if PSG qualify for the final, he should be available. As of now, his participation in the 2026 World Cup with Morocco is not in jeopardy.”

This is truly bad news for PSG and Hakimi, as he will definitely miss the second leg of the semi-final. Unless the media outlet has incorrect information, it would be surprising if they were so certain.

To replace him, it’s likely that Warren Zaïre-Emery (a 20-year-old midfielder) will return to the role he played during Morocco’s absence due to injury and the Africa Cup of Nations in the winter. Paris has options, but it’s still one less weapon for this big match.
