Willian Pacho, the 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender, spoke to CBS Sports Golazo after PSG’s 1-0 qualification against Bayern Munich (5-6 on aggregate) on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League semi-final (final on May 30 against Arsenal).
Pacho: “It was essential that we all stuck together.”
What are your feelings after this qualification following a great match?
Very happy. Since we arrived here, we’ve been thinking back to last year’s final with a good feeling, and we’re happy to experience that feeling again. We played a great match to qualify, and the fact that everyone defended together was key to getting through. It was a great performance, with the forwards helping out.
Nine goals last year, only two this time? How did you manage?
They’re a great team, there’s a lot of movement on both sides. We were a bit stronger defensively, we looked for areas where we could improve. It was essential that we all stuck together. We were also able to counter-attack.
Pacho: “I’ve seen that determination since I arrived.”
Arsenal in the final?
We’re very happy to be going to the final, we have the ambition to win. I’ve seen that determination since I arrived. I feel good in this team. Arsenal is a great opponent, we’ve faced them before, but these are different matches. Before thinking about that, we have to focus on the league.
