In the Nations League, the French national team played at the King Baudouin Stadium this Friday, facing Belgium and securing a 1-0 victory. Four Paris Saint-Germain players were involved in the match: three French players—Désiré Doué, Maghnes Akliouche, and Ousmane Dembélé—and one Belgian, Mika Godts. Here are the press ratings for Les Bleus.
Le Parisien:
Barcola (5) – Lepaul (4.5) – Doué (7.5)
Camavinga (6) – Da Cunha (7) – Akliouche (5)
Diouf (5) – Lacroix (6.5) – Jacquet (6.5) – Kalulu (5)
Maignan (7)
L’Equipe:
Barcola (5) – Lepaul (4) – Doué (8)
Camavinga (6) – Da Cunha (7) – Akliouche (5)
Diouf (5) – Lacroix (7) – Jacquet (8) – Kalulu (6)
Maignan (7)
These ratings seem fair following a generally impressive performance by Les Bleus against a tough Belgian side. This “reshuffled” squad showed great cohesion in both attack and defense. Notably, Doué was in top form and came close to scoring; he undoubtedly boosted his standing during the match. The same goes for Jacquet, who was rock-solid in his debut for Les Bleus.
Lepaul was also making his first start, though it was more apparent that he was finding his feet. He still needs to adapt to the team and this new environment to fully showcase his qualities. Hopefully, he will get another chance, even though competition for places is inevitably fierce.
