Mathieu Bodmer, former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder (2010–2013) and sporting director of Le Havre since 2022, spoke to RMC Sport. As the two clubs meet this Saturday for Matchday 13 of the 2025–2026 Ligue 1 season (kick-off at 9:05 p.m., broadcast on Ligue1+), he was asked about the possibility of joining the Parisian management structure one day.
Bodmer: “Everyone knows the love I have for this club.”
“Yes, I’d like that. But PSG is PSG. Everyone knows the love I have for this club. If the opportunity comes one day, why not? But it’s neither an objective nor a dream. I’m very happy here, and I’ve already talked about it with the president.
In three or five years, maybe I’ll be doing something else with my life — still in football, but I have other ideas, other projects. Do I envy Luis Campos’ position? I’m not convinced.”
It’s easy to imagine that a new adventure at PSG could be tempting for someone who loves the club so deeply. Many would dream of such an opportunity. Bodmer doesn’t go that far, perhaps also out of respect for his current club and for those already in place in Paris. There’s no point in pushing for something that isn’t on the table.
But the door remains open if the chance arises. It would be a major challenge in the club of his heart, though not a priority for the next steps of his career.
