This week saw the second legs of the 2025-2026 Champions League Round of 16 (quarter-finals on April 7-8 and 14-15). As a result, UEFA is holding various votes among fans. Paris Saint-Germain, who won at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea (3-0) on Tuesday, have two players selected in UEFA’s Team of the Week.

We could have expected to see a strong performance from PSG after their impressive victory at Chelsea, even if they didn’t completely dominate the game. Their technical skill and efficiency were undeniable. However, it’s understandable that other teams and players earned more points given the fierce competition in this tournament.
There was, however, Matvey Safonov (the 27-year-old goalkeeper), a well-deserved reward for his efforts. He also conceded one of the chances that PSG conceded, highlighting areas where they still have room for improvement. Even so, they managed the game well early on.
