The return quarter-finals of the Champions League 2024-2025 were played this week. UEFA then organized a series of fan votes. Paris Saint-Germain, who lost but qualified at Villa Park on Tuesday against Aston Villa (3-2, 4-5 on aggregate), has 2 players selected in UEFA’s Team of the Week.
Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper) and Nuno Mendes (22-year-old left-back) would appear to be logical additions to the team. The former made several fine saves to help a struggling PSG, while the latter was good defensively and scored a fine goal.
“Unfortunately”, it’s also quite understandable that other Parisians weren’t present. Paris suffered – too much, in fact – and was not far off a very bad evening. But the main thing is to qualify.
Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker) was not present, even though he was voted a PSG player. An honorary award that was hard to understand, even if he did make one decisive pass.
