This week saw the first-leg semi-finals of the Champions League 2024-2025 (full results here). UEFA then organizes a series of fan votes. Paris Saint-Germain, who beat Arsenal 0-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, is among the nominees for Player of the Week. The competition is between Vitinha (25-year-old midfielder) and Denzel Dumfries (29-year-old right-back for Inter Milan).
It’s superb competition, even if there’s still a start on Vitinha’s Best Player award. Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper) looked likely to win it too, as did João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) and Fabian Ruiz (29-year-old midfielder). With a brace to his name, Dumfries is a strong contender. In any case, the level is obviously very high in the Champions League semi-finals.
