Paris Saint-Germain, who won 4-2 at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday against Manchester City, is not among the nominees for player of the week. The competition is between Raphinha (28-year-old FC Barcelona striker), Julian Alvarez (24-year-old Atlético Madrid striker), Vinicius (24-year-old Real Madrid striker) and Luuk De Jong (34-year-old PSV Eindhoven striker).
It’s regrettable that PSG are absent, despite some great performances, including that of João Neves (20-year-old midfielder voted player of the match).But we also have to accept that competition is very tough in this competition.And strikers are always more in the spotlight in soccer, unfortunately.
