This week saw the 4th round of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase. Following the matches, UEFA held several fan votes. Paris Saint-Germain—who secured a 0-6 victory against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica this Tuesday—had a player in the running for the Player of the Week award. The contenders were Fabián Ruiz (PSG’s 30-year-old midfielder), Kasper Jørgensen (LASK’s 26-year-old right-back), Aleksey Batrakov (Galatasaray’s 21-year-old attacking midfielder), and Anastasios Douvikas (Como’s 27-year-old forward). Fabián Ruiz emerged as the winner.
It’s a slight disappointment for Ruiz, who was once again valuable to the Parisian side’s play and in winning back possession. His brace might have been enough to leave a lasting impression and secure a higher spot. But it’s certainly not a shock; the competition was excellent, and Douvikas is a very worthy winner, having notably contributed 3 goals and 1 assist.
