Day 7 of the Champions League 2024-2025 league phase was played this week. UEFA then organizes various fan votes. Paris Saint-Germain, who beat Manchester City at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday (4-2, video summary PSG/Manchester City) didn’t have a player in contention for the Champions League Player of the Year award. The competition was between Raphinha (28-year-old FC Barcelona striker), Julian Alvarez (24-year-old Atlético Madrid striker), Vinicius (24-year-old Real Madrid striker) and Luuk De Jong (34-year-old PSV Eindhoven striker). Alvarez came out on top.
A fine victory, and it’s easy to accept that the competition is of a very high level in this competition, even if we would have liked to see João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) at least in the final 4.
