On Friday, two days before tomorrow’s Club World Cup 2025 final against Chelsea at the Stade MetLife (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on DAZN), Désiré Doué, Paris Saint-Germain’s 20-year-old midfielder and striker, attended a press briefing. An opportunity to talk about the final and the club’s objectives.
Doué “we work to challenge ourselves.”
“We’re not over-confident at all. We work every day, we work to challenge ourselves. The most important thing is to approach Sunday’s match, which is very important for us, in the same way as we’ve done every game.”
After the matches against Real Madrid, how do you keep your feet on the ground for this final?
“As you said, it’s a final. In a final, anything can happen. Our aim is to bring home the cup again, it would be our fifth trophy. It would be our chance to make history again.”
Doué “to make history at this first edition, that would be magnificent.”
Do you realize what this title would represent?
“It’s a majestic trophy. It’s the first time we’ve taken part, so to make history on this first occasion would be magnificent.”
It would also be the fifth title this season, what does that represent?
“It would mean we’ve won it all, and that’s the goal.”
Any message for the fans here?
“A big thank you, there weren’t too many of them at the last game, but they made a huge amount of noise throughout. And thanks to all those who support us around the world.”

How did you experience this month in the United States with this group?
“Good, we had a lot of good times together. We were lucky enough to be able to go out with each other, to have been in different cities and regions of the United States. It was great, it strengthened our bonds as teammates.”
