Paris Saint-Germain lost 3-0 to Chelsea (highlights Chelsea/PSG) this Sunday at New York’s MetLife Stadium in the final of the 2025 Club World Cup. After the match, Paris coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference.
Luis Enrique: “We know who helps the team”.
I find it very pleasant to be able to coach PSG, and we know who the people are who help the team. Outside the club, you could say that there are different people who can always make criticisms. The most important thing for us is to make the most of this vacation, and we have to make the most of it.
Enrique “I’m not a loser. A loser is someone who gives up”.
How would you sum up your team’s final?
“The first few minutes were a struggle; they were full of energy. They played better than us. There’s always criticism, which doesn’t bother me. I’m not a loser. A loser is someone who gives up, someone who doesn’t get up again. I may be more or less appreciated, but everyone who knows me likes me a lot. I don’t know if I’m too egocentric, but I’ll say it.
Luis Enrique “These are situations we should all avoid.”
The brawl at the end of the match?
At the end of the match, there was an avoidable situation. My intention, as always, was to separate the players so that there would be no further problems. We all should have prevented the situation from degenerating. There was a lot of tension and pressure. I saw Maresca pushing players around, and others pushing him around. These are situations we should all avoid. So I separated the players.
