This Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain faces Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie (PSG won the first leg 5-2) in the 2025-2026 competition (kick-off at 9 pm, CET). This Sunday, Le Parisien reported that there will likely be two players unavailable for PSG.
“The coaching staff is delighted to have almost its entire squad available for such an important match, especially given the number of injuries that have plagued the players since the start of the season.
Barring any last-minute surprises, only Fabian Ruiz and Quentin Ndjantou are expected to miss the game. The Spanish midfielder has continued his individual training program in recent days and will likely still be a bit short of match fitness to travel with the team.”
This isn’t a major surprise, even though some had hoped for Fabian Ruiz’s return. It would have been a surprise, especially since returning to action in such a high-stakes match is very difficult. Perhaps he’ll get a few minutes against Nice next Saturday, although taking the time to prepare during the international break would also make sense.
At least the PSG injury list has stopped growing. This will allow them to prepare well for this European match, but also to have many options during the game.
