On Tuesday, during the first matchday of the 2025-2026 Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. After a match in which the Parisians largely dominated this second leg, they won 3-0. Here are our player ratings for the Parisians. To highlight the collective football and therefore the substitutes who are also part of the adventure, we will rate the players who came on.

Contents
Goalkeeper –Defenders –Midfielders –Forwards –Coach and Substitutes:

Goalkeeper –

Matvey Safonov (7) – He didn’t have a very reassuring first half. Some shaky aerial clearances, but he did make one or two well-timed saves. He had a very good second half.

Defenders –

Achraf Hakimi (6.5) – Very good covering his flank in the first half, he also pushed forward a lot. He provided an assist. You can tell he’s not quite at 100% yet, but he’s gradually increasing his impact at the best possible time of the season.

Marquinhos (7) – More solid than in the first leg, he clearly showed he’s still got what it takes. It’s hard to fault him; he played his part.

Willian Pacho (6) – Always tough in the tackle, his coverage is sometimes a bit sloppy, as we saw against Joao Pedro. He made a few minor technical errors, and he needs to be careful because he’ll surely have to raise his game even further in the next round.

Nuno Mendes (6) – More reserved than usual, he was probably instructed to protect a strong side for Chelsea. A solid performance; he avoided the mistakes he’s made in recent matches. Substituted by Lucas Hernandez in the 66th minute.

Midfielders –

Joao Neves (7) – Always close to Cold Palmer, he was once again Chelsea’s nightmare in the first half. Replaced by Senny Mayulu at halftime (7) – A great entrance, he brought intensity to the pressing and winning back possession, and even scored a nice goal.

Vitinha (7) – A key player, he distributed the ball calmly and safely in the first half. His technical skill went almost unnoticed, but he was, once again, very clean in his play.

Warren Zaire-Emery (7) – He was very involved in midfield, initiating attacks. A little less solid defensively than usual, his runs showed he was starting to tire. But he never gave up.

Forwards –

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7) – The first goalscorer, he was a valuable asset in possession. He also pressed hard, defended relentlessly, as is often the case in the Champions League, he never gives up. He worked incredibly hard, he gave everything. Substituted by Lee Kang-in in the 73rd minute.

Ousmane Dembélé (5.5) – Less prominent than his teammates, he had a very quiet first half. While not particularly involved in the match, he still battled hard. Substituted in the 66th minute by Gonçalo Ramos.

Bradley Barcola (7) – The second goalscorer, brimming with confidence, he was also too greedy on a second clear-cut chance. He also pushed forward frequently. A high-intensity match from him. He never gave up and still has the same knack for creating opportunities. Substituted by Désiré Doué in the 59th minute.

Coach and Substitutes:

Luis Enrique (8) – He managed to rally a team lacking confidence. They’ve reached the Champions League quarter-finals, which guarantees nothing, except that this PSG side is still not to be underestimated. You get the sense that they wanted to focus on defensive solidity and, above all, avoid getting carried away, at the risk of letting Chelsea come back. From the outset, the Parisians had the game wrapped up.

Désiré Doué (4) – A very timid performance from him.

Gonçalo Ramos (5.5) – Interesting off-the-ball movement, a few minor technical errors; he shines with the intensity of his play but is let down by occasional technical sloppiness.

Lucas Hernandez (6) – Brought on to replace a suspended Nuno Mendes, he brought his usual intensity to the left flank.

Lee Kang-In (6) – As is often the case, he tried to keep possession to deny Chelsea chances, but he didn’t shine going forward. It provides control.
