Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain’s 28-year-old striker, spoke to PSG TV ahead of the Club World Cup quarter-final against Bayern Munich this Saturday at 6pm CET. He spoke of the group’s good form, the winning mentality of the dressing room and the respect shown to German opponents.
Dembélé “We’re going to prepare well for tomorrow”.
How is the group feeling?
We had two days off after Inter Miami with our families, which did us good. Then we went straight back to training, even though it’s very hot, but frankly, we’re fine. We’re going to prepare well for tomorrow.
Dembélé “It’s true that it’s been an incredible season”.
What have you learned as a player from this exceptional season?
It’s true that it’s been an incredible season. We tell ourselves not to give up, to play our soccer and, above all, to have the mentality of winning everything.
That’s what we’ve practically done, and we’ve still got one more title to go. The mentality and state of mind of the whole squad has been exceptional since the start of the season. We hope to finish the season well.
Dembélé “We know that playing Bayern Munich is very difficult”.
How do you feel about the match against Bayern Munich?
I feel great. But we know that playing against Bayern Munich is very difficult, whether in the history of PSG or even in my own history, it’s always been difficult. They’re a team we respect a lot. We’re going to play our hearts out to get through to the next round. I think it’s going to be a great match.
