On Tuesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain beat Dunkerque 2-4 (video highlights Dunkerque/PSG) in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France 2024-2025 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. We take a look at some of the highlights and lowlights of the match.
Tops –
21st Coupe de France final
PSG’s consistency is worth noting. There are some not-so-good phases, but in the end, victory is there and the dream continues for the end of the season. It wasn’t an easy match, but the Parisians never panicked, confident in their strengths.
Dembélé on fire
Two more goals on Tuesday evening. His change of direction is to be commended. He’s scoring, he’s leading, he’s changed the way he looks at his job. Scoring has become vital for him. He defends, his physique holds up and, with him, we have high hopes for the end of the season.
Doué grows in stature
His technical quality clearly hurts. He’s been undermining defences for weeks now, and Dunkerque is no exception. He’s scoring, he’s making a difference, and soon he’ll be even better, because nothing seems to stop his forward march.
Flops –
Two goals conceded
This PSG can be both brilliant and baffling. The two goals conceded looked like a realistic April Fool’s joke. The team can’t start games like that.
Beraldo
Still passive in the first half, it needs a general remobilization to win. Beraldo lacks courage and defensive tactics. His aggressiveness is often poorly channeled. We felt that he was still lacking a few things to make him an indisputable starter for this PSG team.
