Paris Saint-Germain beat FC Espaly 2-4 (Espaly/PSG video highlights) this Wednesday at the Stade Marcel Michelin in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France 2024-2025. After qualifying, 19-year-old striker/midfielder Désiré Doué spoke to PSG TV.

Doué “We were able to qualify and that’s the most important thing”.

“We’re satisfied because we’ve qualified. Our aim is to go as far as possible, to win this cup. We’ve qualified and that’s the most important thing. Congratulations to Espaly, who were very good tonight. They caused us a lot of problems by playing their game.”

Qualification is obviously the most important point for PSG, who remain unbeaten at the start of the year. Even though the match was off to a bad start, with the first goal conceded very early on, the Parisians quickly took control of the match and then the lead.

On the away goals rule, PSG have now booked their place in the last 8 of the Coupe de France. This competition is one of their main objectives. After winning the Champions Trophy against AS Monaco a week ago, the Parisians continue their quest for a second.
