Jean-Louis Gasset has been relieved of his duties as coach of Montpellier Hérault Sporting Club, and is to be replaced by a former Paris Saint-Germain man. Zoumana Camara, a former player, assistant coach and U19 coach at Paris Saint-Germain who has been working as a consultant for several months, will sign a contract that will bind him to Montpellier until 2027.
A fine step forward for Zoumana Camara, who is now taking the plunge into Ligue 1. It’s a tough assignment, though, as Montpellier are currently bottom of the table, eleven points behind the first play-off spot.
So it’s probably a longer-term project, with the aim of performing in Ligue 2 next season. But for the former Parisian, it’s still an interesting challenge, which we hope will be crowned with success.
