This Tuesday, as they host Bayern Munich at 9 p.m. at the Parc des Princes for Matchday 4 of the Champions League group stage, Paris Saint-Germain has a small event to celebrate: the birthday of right-back Achraf Hakimi, who turns 27 today.
Hakimi took some time to fully adapt to PSG after arriving in the capital from Inter Milan in 2021. But he persevered, worked hard, and gradually established himself with more consistent performances. The departure of Kylian Mbappé, on whom he perhaps relied a little too heavily at times, seems to have liberated him.
There’s also the style of play under coach Luis Enrique, which allows him to fully express himself by making numerous runs down the wings or through the middle. With his game intelligence and technical skills, Hakimi is now a world-class player. We can only wish him continued success, and a very happy birthday.
