After several trials during Champions League matches, Paris Saint-Germain has made a decisive move in favor of its Ultras. From now on, 500 members of the Collectif Ultras Paris, usually based in the Auteuil stand, will also be positioned opposite in the Boulogne stand at every match. Unless, of course, the experiment proves unsuccessful and the club decides to roll it back. The news was reported by L’Équipe.
“Around 500 members of the Collectif Ultras Paris will be authorized to bring life to the Boulogne stand.”
As already seen last season in certain Champions League fixtures, around 500 members of the Collectif Ultras Paris will be allowed to animate the Boulogne tribune.
The club has modified some seats in the upper part of the stand, removing seat numbers just as it did in Auteuil. Together with the Ultras, PSG made this choice to harmonize an atmosphere at the Parc des Princes that has long been concentrated on Auteuil. Drums and megaphones will also be authorized in Boulogne.
This decision marks a symbolic turning point in the relationship between PSG and its supporters. For years, the stadium’s atmosphere relied almost entirely on Auteuil, creating a powerful but asymmetric sound. By placing 500 members of the Collectif Ultras Paris in Boulogne, the club hopes to generate a more balanced energy — a unifying chorus reminiscent of the Parc’s greatest years.
To this end, the club even adapted the infrastructure by removing seat numbering to encourage freer, more dynamic support, mirroring the Auteuil model. With drums and megaphones officially permitted, the aim is to create a true wall of sound. The question remains whether this experiment will succeed in rallying the broader fanbase and restoring Boulogne’s former prestige, without reigniting the tensions of the past.
