On Matchday 24 of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain beat Lille 4-1 at the Parc des Princes (video summary PSG/Lille). As a result, Paris Saint-Germain can now move forward with confidence and with as much of a lead over the chasing pack as they have over the winners.

Ligue 1 - Day 24 review: Europeans win, except Lille

PSG had a new preparation, a European test, and impressed by sweeping aside Lille in the first half. As a result, PSG’s confidence continues to grow, with their lead over 2nd place still intact.

OM had to be patient, but ended up winning logically against Nantes (21 shots to 8, 75% possession). Just behind them, Nice kept up the pressure, leaving Saint-Etienne to fight for survival. On the other hand, Le Havre pulled off a major coup by beating Lens in a crazy match. (2-0, then 2-2, 3-2 and 3-4). This was a terrible result for Lens, who suffered their 4th defeat in a row.

Monaco, on the other hand, are doing better. Not least thanks to Mika Biereth, the 22-year-old striker who arrived this winter and has scored a hat-trick and is already one of Ligue 1’s top 10 scorers with 10 goals (1.43 per game on average).

Lyon also got off to a flying start with a hard-fought victory over Brest, who appear to be struggling to follow up their Coupe de France elimination with a second European qualification next season. Lyon, for their part, remain firmly in the hunt.

Just behind them are Strasbourg and Toulouse, who are also managing to hang on, leaving Auxerre and Angers in the lead in the race to stay up, albeit with a slight lead.

Rennes, for their part, are confirming that this is a better time to be winning again, and in style too. That’s enough to take some of the worry away, although it’s too early to breathe a sigh of relief. Europe, on the other hand, is certainly too far away. Montpellier, the victims of Rennes, have their sights firmly set on staying up, but their mission still looks complicated. The points gap doesn’t seem insurmountable, except that the problems seem too hard to solve. You never know, things can go fast in the last 10 games.
