As the season draws to a close, or at least enters its money time, we know a little more about some of the players’ personal and collective statistics. Data Foot, which analyzes matches and players via the X network, has listed the players who have scored the most goals in Ligue 1 this season. The top 11 include 5 Parisians: Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz. The most striking element is still the one who comes top, Doué, who is both the player who makes the most actions that lead to a goal, but also the player who makes the most in relation to minutes played, and his lead is considerable.
“The players who have scored the most goals in Ligue 1 this season.
This corresponds to the number of implications in the last two actions before a goal, whether with a last pass, a penultimate pass, a high recovery leading to a goal, a provoked foul leading to a goal (penalty, CF), a dribble leading to a goal… The aim is to highlight players who are very important offensively, without basing ourselves solely on goals & assists.”
There’s no doubt about it, this PSG team is clearly a cut above the rest. The overall Ligue 1 ranking shows it. Best defense, best attack, best goalscorer and best passer, we also find the player who brings the most goal-scoring actions per match. Calculated on the basis of a player’s involvement in the last two actions before a goal (last pass, penultimate pass, recovery, provoked foul or dribble), it’s Désiré Doué who comes out on top in this statistic.
With 21 decisive actions (versus 17 for second-placed Barcola), he is also the one who makes the most per match, with 1.38 versus 0.96 for second-placed Rayan Cherki. It’s an important statistic that shows just how good Doué is.
His passing and pressing skills, as well as his outstanding dribbling, are incredible. When the time comes to take stock, we’ll have to remember that Doué didn’t succeed in the first half of the season. Those days seem so long ago now.
