On Matchday 10 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain drew 1-1 against Lorient at the Stade du Moustoir. This result, however, doesn’t prevent them from maintaining their top spot, despite numerous surprises.

Lorient played a very deep defensive line, leaving PSG to inject pace and precision to find weaknesses. Unfortunately, the Parisians lacked both and suffered a lapse in concentration after conceding the opening goal. This allowed Lorient to secure a valuable point.

It’s a disappointing result for Paris, but the damage is mitigated by other results, which allow them to remain in first place. The biggest surprise of Matchday 10 was the 2-0 victory against Lens, who perhaps still had their minds on their win against Marseille this past weekend. This is the first win for the team still in 18th place, but with more hope for the future.

Meanwhile, Lens slipped from 2nd to 6th place in a very tight league table. However, Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais also had disappointing evenings. But with more excitement than PSG. Marseille drew 2-2 against Angers at home, and their matches featured some dramatic twists, as did Lyon’s 3-3 draw against Paris FC.

Monaco and Strasbourg took advantage of the situation. Monaco, now in second place, put on a show in Nantes with a thrilling 5-3 victory (though one that requires some defensive work going forward), while Strasbourg were convincing against Auxerre: 3-0.

The race for European qualification is thus down to just a few points. Especially since Nice pulled off a major upset with their victory against Lille. Toulouse and Rennes shared the points, which prevents them from falling further behind but doesn’t allow them to fully maintain their position in the relegation battle. Finally, Le Havre secured a crucial victory against Brest in their fight for survival, while Brest now find themselves in a precarious position.
