PSG dominated the match, but came close to a major disappointment, as Gonçalo Ramos’ goal only came in the final seconds. This led some media outlets to describe the game as “sluggish.” However, their dominance was far more evident than the final scoreline suggests. The result guarantees them all three points and keeps them at the top of the league. There’s still movement in the standings.

Olympique de Marseille kept pace, but not without difficulty in Auxerre, notably with a red card received in the second half and Nayef Aguerd injured before the match. The three points are back, but serenity is still elusive. Things are even worse for Monaco, who lost to a Paris FC side still capable of brilliance, even if they lack solidity.

Lille, like PSG and Marseille, did just enough against Angers after a period of dominance, while Lens bounced back well after their midweek defeat against Metz. Lorient, very defensive against Paris, conceded three goals this time. As for Europe, Rennes pulled off the upset of the weekend with a 4-1 victory against Strasbourg to stay in contention, while Strasbourg continue to show too much inconsistency.

The second big surprise came in the relegation battle, where Metz, who hadn’t won before their 2-0 victory against Lens on Wednesday, secured a second consecutive win by the same scoreline in Nantes. This allowed them to climb to 17th place and restore some enthusiasm. The situation, however, is alarming for Auxerre, who are still struggling to find their form and are now bottom of the table.

Finally, the 0-0 draw between Brest and Lyon was very frustrating for Brest and almost heroic for Lyon, who received a red card in the 8th minute.
