A draw is always a disappointment for PSG, who are aiming to win titles. But there’s no need to panic; they were managing the game with priority given to what’s next, including the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Any potential regrets, despite their dominance, are mitigated by Lens’ draw in Nice. Lens had done the hard part by opening the scoring, something they’d been missing recently, but they crumbled at the end of the match, conceding a red card (81st minute) and allowing Nice to equalize (84th minute). This gives PSG a comfortable lead.

The biggest upset of the day went to Lyon, who brilliantly overturned Rennes’ opening goal to secure a spectacular victory on Sunday night. This win puts them in third place, overtaking Lille, one of the weekend’s “losers” after their 1-1 draw against Le Havre. While it’s a valuable point for this team, known for their tenacity, Lille may well have regrets at the end of the season.

Marseille fared no better in the clash between Lyon and Rennes, suffering a humiliating eight-minute spell of poor form. This didn’t even come as a surprise, as Nantes were dominating possession. They capitalized with a clinical finish, nearly sealing the match by going from 0-0 to 3-0.

Monaco thus moves ahead with a disappointing victory in Metz, a win that could prove crucial. In any case, it condemns Metz to relegation to Ligue 2. This event overshadows Paul Pogba’s return to the starting lineup for Monaco. For Strasbourg, European football is over following a 1-2 defeat against Toulouse; they will need to reach the Europa League Conference final by overturning their 1-0 loss against Rayo Vallecano on Thursday.

Finally, regarding relegation, Auxerre’s crucial victory against Angers must be highlighted, with a newfound efficiency to win 3-1. This prevents Nantes from climbing back up the table and also puts them within striking distance of Nice (their opponent next Sunday), Le Havre, and even Angers in the final two matchdays.
