On Matchday 12 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faces Olympique Lyonnais at Parc OL this Sunday at 8:45 PM. It’s the final match before the winter break in a busy weekend in the race for European qualification.

The matches:

Lyon vs. PSG is a historically important fixture in French football and will be a great way to close out the weekend before the international break. Both sides have the potential for some attractive football, although Lyon will still be looking for some consistency to improve their chances of securing European places. First place versus sixth place is a great match-up.
But it’s far from the only one: AC Monaco (5th) hosts Lens (3rd) and Strasbourg (7th) welcomes Lille (4th). The standings will likely change. Marseille (2nd) will have the opportunity to capitalize when they host Brest (13th). Brest are always a troublesome team, but they’ve been struggling lately.
Nice (8th) could also take advantage of the situation to try and climb back up the table after their defeat against PSG, but Metz (17th) are in excellent form with two consecutive wins. They’ll definitely need to be wary. Perhaps Toulouse’s (9th) trip to Lorient (16th) will be “easier,” although football is never that simple.
The result between Paris FC (11th) and Rennes (10th) will be interesting to see, as these two teams have considerable ability but also inconsistency. In the relegation battle, Angers (14th) and Auxerre (18th), as well as Le Havre (12th) and Nantes (15th), have crucial matches ahead.
