As it does after every round of league matches, L’Équipe has drawn up its team for the 29th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025, which was played over the weekend. Paris Saint-Germain are absent, as their trip to Nantes has been moved to Tuesday April 22 to help PSG focus on their Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa (return on Tuesday April 15).
A very fine team, marked in particular by Reims, who pulled off a major coup in the race for survival with their 0-2 win at Lens. It was a hard-fought victory, with Lens having plenty of chances. But the Rémois deserve a lot of credit, especially from coach Samba Diawara, who has been turning things around since his arrival. Monaco, Lyon and Rennes, winners against OM (3-0), Auxerre (1-3) and Le Havre (1-5), are also logically in the running.
PSG and Nantes won’t be there, as they weren’t expected. Nothing too serious, given that the weekend’s matches could be “forgotten” in 10 days’ time, when Matchday 30 will be played in the meantime.
