Ligue 1 - Matchday 23 review: PSG take the lead, OM get angry

PSG were in control for a while in Lyon, but were eventually pushed aside by Lyon’s more attacking and slightly worrying side. As a result, the end of the match was a little “explosive” and difficult for Paris. But the 3 points are there for all to see, and they’ve given us a further boost in the standings.

Olympique de Marseille lost heavily at Auxerre 3-0. Once again, this was an opportunity to launch a heated debate on refereeing, as if it were the main reason for this setback and other points lost.

Behind them, Lille pulled off a major coup with a tight win over Monaco to move closer to the podium by overtaking the Monegasques. Nice followed suit with a more “logical” victory over Montpellier, who remain stuck in last place.

Strasbourg, Brest and Lens were unable to hold on to Europe, as the top two shared the points and Lens were stunned in Nantes.

Nantes’ victory not only hurt Lens, but also gave them the points they need to stay up. The same goes for Rennes against Reims, giving coach Habib Beye another fine record (3 wins and 1 defeat).

Toulouse also got some fresh air, with perhaps still a small hope of Europe, by avoiding the trap at Le Havre. Finally, Saint-Etienne and Angers shared the points after a spectacular match. It’s not all good news, but it’s not uninteresting for either club.
