The Ligue de Football Professionnel organized the election for the “best surprise” of Ligue 1 2024-2025, and 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender Willian Pacho was among the finalists. Other contenders included Esteban Lepaul (25-year-old striker from Angers), Diego Moreira (20-year-old midfielder from Strasbourg) and Mika Biereth (22-year-old striker from AS Monaco). The winner was revealed today.

Pacho is a handsome winner of this honorary title. He arrived at PSG with very little publicity in France. Some were quick to claim that Paris was making a mistake by spending around 40 million. But the defender has put everyone in agreement, both in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League. The Ecuadorian has established himself as one of the world’s best in his position. Hard to beat.
