This Friday, the Professional Football League launched several votes regarding the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 season. This included the “best surprise” vote. It featured a Paris Saint-Germain player.
Willian Pacho (23-year-old defender) is a superb contender for this title. He arrived at PSG relatively unknown in France (and beyond) and has now established himself as one of the best in his position in the world. This is largely due to his Champions League run, but that makes an impression and will influence such a vote.
Of course, the other players in the final also have their say, with remarkable performances since signing. But the French champions wouldn’t be a “surprise” winner.
