On Matchday 28 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faces Toulouse at the Parc des Princes this Friday at 8:45 PM CET. It’s a tricky match to manage before the Champions League (quarter-final first leg against Liverpool on Wednesday) and after the international break. It’s also a particularly tempting weekend to kick-start the sprint to the end of the season.

PSG is the favorite hosting Toulouse (9th), but we also know that nothing will be easy against a team capable of troubling anyone. Toulouse has lacked consistency to fully establish itself in the European race, but they still have a say. Especially against a PSG side that needs to find its rhythm after the international break (apart from injured players, only Lucas Beraldo was absent from the first team squad).

This will be a crucial match in the title race, with Lens (2nd) facing a very difficult away game against Lille (5th). It’s the Derby of the North, and Lille have recently regained their confidence and will be looking to make another strong statement after their victory at the Vélodrome before the international break.

Moreover, Marseille will also be involved in a very important match in Monaco, needing to secure three points against the 6th-placed team. It won’t be easy, as Monaco have been in good form lately. Although the international break can always change things. They’ll need to manage the return to play carefully.

Olympique Lyonnais (4th) will be on the lookout for a win with a trip to Angers, a 12th-placed team that needs to secure survival with a comfortable margin, which seems quite manageable. However, we all know that this doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s a similar situation for Rennes (7th) against Brest (11th), while Strasbourg (8th) seems even more favored against a struggling Nice side (15th).

However, Nice will likely put up a good fight to secure their survival, which is becoming increasingly precarious. There are also two crucial matches: Le Havre (14th) host Auxerre (16th) and Metz (18th) welcome FC Nantes (17th).
