On Matchday 8 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain will face Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes this Friday at 8:45 p.m. A “shock” match to resume the international break, and one that could well benefit others.

The matches:
The first-place team hosts the third-place team; it’s a great matchup in the league. Especially given the potential in their playmaking and chance creation. The only drawback is that we’re coming out of the international break just before the Champions League, and there could be some game-management on both sides. But there will be quality and a desire to resume the game strongly.
Among them, OM will be on the lookout with their visit to Le Havre. The three points will definitely be a target for this team, in good form before the break. Beware of unpleasant surprises, though. Olympique Lyonnais, AS Monaco, and Lille will also be favorites and should benefit from the clash at the top of the table. Except they have one thing in common: a poor start before the national team matches. Monaco continues to be inconsistent, Lille didn’t take full advantage of a decimated PSG, and Lyon were overthrown by Toulouse.
TFC will also have to confirm their form to secure a place in Europe. They must respect their opponents, but a match against Metz, who are struggling greatly, must be won to have any real ambition.
The other big clash in the European race will be between Lens and Paris, who have one thing in common: having finished very strongly before the break. It will probably be a good match to watch. The one between Lorient and Brest looks more like a derby to gain some peace of mind in the hope of staying up.
