What is your initial reaction to the match?
Frustration, isn’t it? We were very close, but once the immediate frustration passes, I’ll feel nothing but pride in the players’ performance. But that’s how it is; that’s football.
Ancelotti: “If we didn’t win, we need something more.”
Luis Enrique said he was taking only the positives from tonight; do you feel the same way?
Yes, of course, I’ll take the positives. I think we can learn from this, because we’ll be playing many matches against extraordinary teams with extraordinary players—players capable of producing a moment like Vitinha’s cross at the end. If we didn’t win, it means something was missing.
It’s a good learning opportunity, because we’ll play many high-level matches like this. We’ll need to play the way we did today. But if we didn’t win, we need something more.
