Luis Enrique: “The players are tired.”
I have to congratulate Ethan because he’s a very good player, and I’m very happy for him.
Do you have to come to terms with a draw?
It was the same as two years ago when we controlled the match and in the end Lille scored. That’s how it is, you have to accept it, but I think we controlled the match, we scored a very nice goal. It’s difficult because all the players here are playing very well, so you have to accept that.
What’s your comment on Mendes’ fantastic goal?
He’s different, everyone knows that. We prioritized the players’ health because there’s international week and important matches. But after that match against Barcelona, the players are tired, and it was time. The young players played very well.

Are you proud of your young players?
Of course, very proud. They showed character and they played here at their age, they did good things.
You have the two best full-backs that you’ve coached in your career?
I also had Dany Alves. I coached Jordi Alba too. There are a lot of good players, but it’s obvious that Hakimi and Mendes are different.
