Paris Saint-Germain (8th) head coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference on Thursday ahead of tomorrow’s match against Lille (3rd) at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy (kick-off at 8:45 PM, CET) in Matchday 2 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. Alongside the press conference, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “Reminding ourselves of what we want to do and improve.”
An important week for the squad?
Yes, definitely. We started the season by winning two trophies in a short space of time. Now, however, we have time to prepare for each match calmly and without rushing. We have away games early in the season, but it’s a good time to talk to the players who have returned and to remind ourselves of what we want to achieve and improve upon. These are positive weeks.
Luis Enrique: “I’m going for a bike ride”
How do you view this match?
There are no easy away games. Lens, Rennes, and Lille are playing in Europe. It’s a positive scenario for us, as we can focus on preparations for the Champions League. There’s a special kind of motivation.
How are you experiencing the Champions League draw? What’s your feeling about it?
I used to always be in the office for it, and it was always a disaster—always the toughest outcome. This time, I’m going for a bike ride without knowing the results; I’ll be told when I get back. It’s a novel approach. We’ll see the draw, but it would be hard to do worse than last year.
