Paris Saint-Germain and Lorient faced off this Wednesday at the Stade du Moustoir in Matchday 10 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. After the game, Lorient goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo (31 years old) spoke to Ligue1+.
Mvogo: “We needed some great individual performances.”
Does it feel like a victory?
Yes, of course, because today we faced the best team in Europe. We knew we needed some great individual performances to get a result against such a great team. And that’s exactly what happened today.
I want to thank my teammates because they did most of the work, they gave it their all, and I made the necessary saves. A very, very big point for us today, and I hope it continues.
Mvogo: “We were valiant and combative.”
Have you improved your footwork? Is that what your coach is asking of you?
Yes, that’s what the coach is asking of me. I’m a goalkeeper who likes to come out from the back, so that’s also the coach’s instruction, even though it was against a good Paris team that presses a lot.
Trying to break through their first line of defense to attack the space behind them, which I think is what we managed to do in two or three sequences. I love playing from the back; I don’t like just hoofing the ball forward. It was suffocating at the end; they put everything into winning. We were valiant and combative.
