Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, gave an interview to Movistar +. In particular, he spoke about last season’s match against FC Barcelona, which was a tough one for him, having played for and coached the Catalan club. He doesn’t want to play them again this season, to avoid too much emotion, and certainly not in the Champions League final.
“The match against Barça was horrible. Coming back home against the club that gave me the most, a horrible feeling for me. I hope not to play against them again this season, I can’t imagine a final against Barça.”
We can understand the Paris coach. He’s a whole person, who doesn’t deny his past or his career. Obviously, if he has to play Barcelona in the final, he’ll give his all for PSG. He prefers it not to happen, that’s logical, he doesn’t want third-party emotions to upset him at important moments.
He’s spent most of his career playing there, he’s won the LDC as a coach, and that inevitably provokes big sensations. Let’s hope for his sake that he doesn’t drag Barcelona into the European Cup.
