Luis Enrique, the 55-year-old coach of Paris Saint-Germain, suffered a fall while cycling on Friday. He injured his clavicle and will undergo surgery, as confirmed by the Parisian club in an official statement. PSG expressed its support for its coach and announced that further information would be provided shortly.
“Following a cycling accident that occurred this Friday, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique was taken to hospital and will undergo surgery for a fractured clavicle. Paris Saint-Germain would like to express its full support for Luis Enrique and wishes him a speedy recovery. The Club will provide further information shortly.”
Luis Enrique is a keen cyclist. This injury is nothing out of the ordinary; these things happen. He will have surgery and then undergo rehabilitation. He knows his body; he knows it will take some time to recover, but for PSG, this seems more like a setback, occurring during a difficult period (with the injuries to Dembélé and Doué), rather than a major problem. We wish him a speedy recovery. It shouldn’t have a huge impact on the Parisian club, as their coach will be able to continue leading the team despite the injury.
